Experienced Building Enclosure System Engineer

(Specialization in curtain wall, window wall and storefront system design)

Location: Los Angeles, CA/City of Garden Grove, CA/New York City, NY

DESCRIPTION:

The candidate may participate in Building Enclosure System engineering work and project management tasks, including but not limited to the following:

• Collaborate with Architects, Contractors, Consultants, Suppliers, and Inspectors in Building enclosure system design, specialized in curtain wall, window and storefront systems;

• Review contract drawings, specifications and other project related technical documents;

• Prepare shop drawings and submittals in conformance to architectural documents, contract specifications, and local building codes;

• Perform structural analysis and design of Building Enclosure systems, curtain walls, windows and storefront systems;

• Participate in design meetings with owners, developers, architects, product manufactures, and other consultants;

• Collaborate/Coordinate with suppliers on fabrication drawings per approved shop drawings;

• Place material orders per approved shop drawings;

• Prepare as-built drawings and other closeout technical documents;

• Supervising Assistant Engineers, Engineering Assistants and Interns, including providing input on performance appraisals.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

• 5+ years of experience in building envelope design and construction

• In-depth knowledge of curtain walls, window, and storefront systems

• In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and related programs

• Excellent communicator possessing strong writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills

• Interested in innovative design, specifically in sustainable and high performing buildings

• Professional registration is preferred, candidates pursuing professional licensing are encouraged to apply

• Authorized working status in the U.S. is required
